Planning
Most new buildings will need planning consent and KM Industrial & Agricultural Buildings can sort that out for you. By starting at the beginning of the development process by handling your planning application or assisting you with it. We have had plenty of experience in obtaining planning consents with a 100% success rate.
If required, we have recommend architects and planning consultants for more complex developments. We are well placed to handle any planning issues that you may have with your proposed steel building.
Design
When considering a new build we like to spend time on the design as this building will hopefully serve your needs for the next 30-50 years. We will discuss various aspects of the design with you and looking at possible future demands for the building. We can also advise you on cladding materials, access requirements, ventilations issues and a host of other issues to ensure we design and build the steel building to your requirements.
We design and fabricate our buildings. Our steel buildings are made with hot rolled steel and this can either be shot blasted, and painted with quality gloss paint or galvanized depending on your requirements.
By employing solid construction techniques in all our steel buildings, we ensure they are built to the highest standard and have maximum strength and durability.
Other materials we employ include timber, galvanized steel purlins and supports, fibre cement sheeting, box profile steel sheeting, insulated composite panels and pre-stressed concrete panels and doors. We ensure all materials are sourced from quality and reliable suppliers which we keep a strong, excellent relationship with.
Foundations & Groundworks
Site preparation and setting foundations are incredibly important to the construction of any quality building. We will advise the customer on the groundworks required for their building.
We ensure that our buildings are erected safely, quickly, and precisely. The foundations consist of a concrete pad which is first excavated then poured in with concrete. Into the concrete we set holding down bolts which the building columns will be bolted to in the first phase of erection. This is the most safest and efficient way of preparing the foundations.
Erection and Cladding
All steel erection is carried out by our team. We do not sub-contract out the erecting of our buildings. We want to ensure the building receives the same amount of attention to detail as we apply to the design and fabrication. Our team care about the construction of the steel building. We aim to erect the building on time and without leaving the site.
Refurbishment
We have been approached in the past to refurbish existing buildings. These projects can include everything from stripping existing cladding to fixing new. We can also carry out repairs to buildings from replacing fabricating to fitting new steelwork.
Supply Only
We recommend in KM Industrial and Agricultural Buildings providing all services for your building from planning through to erecting and cladding, but if you require drawings for self-erection we do “supply only” buildings.
